The Biggest Story by Kevin Deyoung, Illustrated by Don Clark Review
The Biggest Story is the Bible set up in a story, kind of like a fairy tale. But not exactly a fairy tale. The Bible is NOT a fairy tale. However, The Biggest Story reads like a beautiful love story. It has the Once Upon a Time and ends with a very happy ending.
It is a story book that can be read over and over and will hold your child’s attention like it held my granddaughters. The illustrations by Don Clark are out of this world. They are so vivid and colorful. It is an amazing pallet of colors he chose to tell the story. The story is written so that the reader yearns for more. It starts off with Adam and Eve in the garden, goes through the 10 commandments, Straight through to the virgin birth of Christ. Kevin the author leads us straight till the end of God’s awesome word that we will live in Heaven happily ever after.
What more can you ask of a story?
Reading The Biggest Story as an adult brings me back to my childhood days of when I thought the bible was just a story. I was not raised in a Christian home. I was not raised to love Christ or even to know much about him. We went to church, but it was built on rote prayers and following some prayer book. Not learning and knowing how awesome our God is.
