Strong and Kind, by Korie Robertson Review
Strong, and Kind….. two words,
Two words that mean something.
Two of the nine character traits that Kori and Willi Robertson from the Duck Dynasty wanted to instil in their children, like it was in them. Within Strong and Kind and Other Important Character Traits Your Child Needs to Succeed, are tidbits and advice from Willi, while Kori and her mom Chrys Howard explain why these traits are important and how to instil them into your own families.
I really struggle with Self-Control, so being able to show my children that, has been really hard. Let’s face it, I am morbidly obese by doctor standards and to me, I am just super fat. Not 600 pounds kind of fat, but if I don’t stop it soon, I could be. I have zero self control over food. Over my words, or …. well I think I will stop there. I love how Korie takes Self Control back to the Garden. Adam and Eve were allowed to eat anything in the garden. Anything except for a certain fruit. God said NO, do not touch. Yet, what did Eve do? She chose not to obey. Having self control is a choice.
I really love this book. I think it came at a perfect time in my life. I have lost two children to the world. Two that I hope some day will come back to God. I do not want to lose the other two I have here at home yet. I also have three precious grandbabies that live here. I want to show them and teach them how to live, how to love, and how to grow in Christ. I give Strong and Kind 5+ stars. I think it was well written. It is not written as you have to do or you need to do…. It is written this is what worked for us. Love it!
