When I was first picked to review for Biblical Reproductions I was so excited! Finally, I was asked to review something that I didn’t pick out. WOOHOO. I was super, totally psyched over this. I am a huge history nerd. I am just getting into learning and knowing more about the Biblical time periods. So getting in on this product review was just amazing! As I devoured the website, I kept pondering what they could be sending me. Would they send the Dead Sea Scrolls Jar that I had my eye on? Or, would they send me Ten Commandments Scroll that I also really wanted? Well, I did not get either. I also did not get the Fourth Century Oil Lamp or any of the Monumental Inscriptions.
So, by now internet, you are scratching your head and asking, well, what did she get? I got the one item I did not want. Sorry folks, I just didn’t want this. I did not want The Crucified Man. To me, it was ugly. Who would be interested in that?
So guess…. what…… I got……….
Well, I was determined when I first found out about this product review, whatever it was would either go on my wall, or on my mantle. So, The Crucified Man is on its permanent dwelling space on my mantle. I also have learned to love the thing. I was seriously jealous of the other reviewers who got the pieces I wanted. But in the end, I think I have the coolest piece. I absolutely love it!
So about The Crucified Man as on the Biblical Reproductions website:
The “Crucified Man” is an authentic reproduction of a heel bone belonging to a first century man named Yehohanan (John) ben Hagkol. Authorized by the Israel Antiquities Authority.
So the boys and I did a bit of research on Yehohanan Ben Hagkol. His bone was found in 27 A.D with a crucifixion nail still attached. The bone and the nail were fused together and found in a bone box. He was a Jerusalem resident. The Romans used crucification for thieves, and rebels. You can find out more about what this heel bone signifies here.
So, while I was not thrilled initially, my boys and I think this is a great, and neat little item. When their friends come over they get to say we have a heel bone on the mantle. I bet, not many can say that! Thank you very much Biblical Reproductions!

You can also find my other two posts here and here that were about Biblical Reproductions.
My product came in a box that was just perfect for its size. It was very well packed. Lots of cushioning so no chances of it breaking in transit. Just overall wonderful!
You can buy any of the above products here.
I also have a coupon code for you! GBCWA14
You can purchase any of the items on Biblical Reproductions ( except the pottery) and receive a pottery piece of your choice(1 of 3 pieces)! ($22.95 value)
Just enter the code at check-out! Then in the notes field, specify which piece you would like.
You can use this code on anything BUT the pottery.
So, if you wanted one of the Dead Sea Scrolls, you would put that into your cart. Then enter the above code. Then in the notes section enter either the Dead Sea Scrolls Jar, Herodian Lamp with the handles, or without the handles. Simple.
