Quarto Kids Books #HGG
We love to read in our family. Seriously. We love to read.
I have taught my children that we can go anywhere in the world. All we have to do is pick up a book, and open the cover. We can go to anywhere.
They are starting to believe me. So now, I have to work on the grandbabies.
I am loving the books from the Quarto Kids Books Division of Quarto Knows. They are great stories, great books filled with incredible information, and even some fun books!
The World Famous Cheese Shop Break-in by Sean Taylor & Hannah Shaw
Price: 13.17 on Amazon.
The World Famous Cheese Shop Break-in is such a cute story! Such a cute story. The poor rats just could not make it to the cheese shop. My Jacks listened to the story over and over again. I am the type of person to put emphasis on certain parts and try to bring the story alive. It is very easy to do with this story!
We love it!
It is very easy to read, using words toddlers and young children can understand. With colorful graphics to keep them entertained while you are reading.

One Thousand Things by Anna Kovecses
Price: $12.57 on Amazon.
One Thousand Things, is such a sweet encyclopedia of first words. It is set up in categories and you have to find the mouse on each page. Well, when I read this to my grandsons, I point the little guy out. They are just 9 months, so I am not sure how much they are retaining, however, I do know from history that if you read to your children on a daily basis they will grow up to be better readers!
The graphics keep the littles entertained while you point out each word. It has quite an “old feel” about the entire book. I love it!

My Big Book of Christmas Coloring, Songs, & Activities by Walter Foster Jr. Creative Team
$9.95 on Amazon.
My Big Book of Christmas Coloring, Songs, & Activities, is a great way to keep kids entertained during this Holiday Season. Between the word searches, the coloring pages, “Which One is Different”, and the songs. It sure keeps you entertained with your youngsters. I know my older boys are having fun with this. I would say this coloring books is geared more for the ages of 7 and above. If I had to take a guess.
I think it is cute, and I am going to love to color in this with my Jacks.

Creaturepedia, Welcome to the Greatest Show on the Earth by Adrienne Barman
Price: $15.11 on Amazon
Creaturepedia is an encyclopedia of animals that are on the earth now, ones that may go extinct soon, and some that are already extinct. It is set up into different “chapters” of the animals such as, The Big-Eared Beasts, The Emerald-Greens, The Homebodies, and the Voyagers.
The graphics are pretty good. Nice and colorful. I am not sure if I would put the chapters the way the author did. However, it is set up pretty nice. If there is a special thing about the species, it is in a very small italic print which makes it hard to read.
Over all, I do like it.
About the Author
Adrienne Barman spent her childhood in the highlands of Southern Switzerland and obtained her graphics diploma at Lugano. In 2001 she moved to Geneva, where she worked for five years with the collective SO2 Design while also working with Le Courrier. She also enjoyed being close to wildlife there. Since 2007 she has devoted herself to illustrating for publishing and press.
I give Creaturepedia 4 stars.
The 50 States, by Gabrielle Balkan
Price: $22.65 on Amazon
The 50 States is a large book filled with all kinds of incredible information about each of the 50 states in America. I mean it is incredible. Full of knowledge that I did not even know. Different facts that some may not even know of their own state.
It is very colorful. It has a great section for each state that says Moments to Remember. Of course, there is a Key Facts section and a Welcome section that briefly explains the state history. I have had fun going over the states with my older boys. We knew much of it already, but then again, we homeschool and we have already gone over much of it. But, as I said, there are facts about each state we did not know.
