One Day Down at the Ronald McDonald House.
Sitting here, at the table in the common area on floor 3, where our room is located at the Ronald McDonald House. . Casey is laying down, tired, and I am sure stressed. She has Cash, propped up on her Boppy Pillow, while Jacks is watching a borrowed Dora the Explorer movie on the TV. I am trying hard to work, but my brain keeps going to the blessings we have received.
First, the Ronald McDonald House, is amazing. The staff is simply awesome. The people here, most of whom have babies over in the NICU. Some have been here for months. Jacks, played with a little Amish girl, her brother I believe is over there, and has a bad heart. They have been here since July, and are hoping to go home in 2 weeks. Language is not a barrier. Both were the only child, so learning to share is interesting to watch. I wanted to take a photo, but, I also wanted to be respectful of their beliefs.
Our Second Blessing, Presley is doing great! One day down, 4-5 more to go we are hoping. He has been 48 hours with zero episodes, 24 of which are without any interventions. No meds, No caffeine, no o2! He has to go 5 days without any episodes before he can even think of being released. So pray with us that he will be okay.
I am really missing my husband, and I am missing my boys. I hate being away from them, but my daughter really needed my help. So, I am here helping her, so she can be with both her boys. Not at the same time, but, in the hospital and here at the house. Well, castle.
Blessing Three, I put out a plea on Facebook, about needing funds to help us while we are here. We are on a too tight budget and there are things we just needed for our stay here. They do have several kitchens here and they are stocked with donations from folks. Which is GREAT! But sometimes, you just want something that reminds you of home. Ya know? We were able to secure some funds, which is very helpful right now!
I hope to chronicle each day, I will add photo’s to tomorrow’s, my phone is dying. So, no photos today.
