Music Influences + Giveaway Ends 5/26
Music is such a huge influence in my life. No, I can not sing a note these days. I am flat, sharp, and way off key. That said, believe it or not, I have won an award back in high school. One of the top. But, I had children, and I got fat. So now, this fat lady cannot sing.
That does not stop me.
I get in my car, roll down the windows, set the speed, and blast the music. Sometimes it is the radio, and other times, it is a good CD.
A CD from one of my favorite bands!
Can you guess who my current favorite band is?
I love her new CD called Exhale! It has just a perfect mixture of music on there. I love that her music makes me think. Sometimes, I just listen to the words, and other times, I belt them out.
Lyrics speak to me these days. They haven’t always. But, hers always do. Now that I am a wee bit over 29, I am listening to the words of the music I love to listen to.
One of my favorite tracks from Exhale is number 2. Lord, I’m Ready Now. I just love the melody, the words, and even the drum line.
I LOVE listening to drums play.
This song really talks about where I am right now. I have been running away from God for several months now, maybe even a couple of years really. Caught up in who I am not, which is actually a line in the song. I have let Him down with my actions, who I became which is NOT who I am.
Resurrection is another beautiful song that just really speaks to me. That would be track 4 on the CD.
EXHALE, the seventh studio album from acclaimed multi-genre singer, songwriter and author PLUMB, expresses a new focus and vision. After the runaway success of NEED YOU NOW (the album, title track and book), which coincided with her own moving story of brokenness and ultimately healing, Exhale brims with worshipful songs of gratitude and hope. The defining concept of EXHALE was born from a sermon at Plumb’s home church, wherein her pastor Pete Wilson expressed the notion that the Church doesn’t exist for itself. Rather, believers come to church to breathe in grace and truth, be changed, and then go out and “exhale” that hope into their surrounding community.“That idea of exhaling hope hit me right away and I couldn’t get to the Notes section on my phone fast enough. I started writing the chorus of Exhale right then and there,” explains Plumb. “I have been made new by the ultimate hope, and I want to share and exhale that hope in everyway I can.”
Did I tell you I am super in love with this CD and I think you will be too!
