Counting on a Cowboy, by Debra Clopton Review
Counting on a Cowboy, by Debra Clopton is truly a sweet story. A young lady named Abby who has many a wall up due to the death of her husband in a car accident. I can certainly understand why she would want to put walls up. Abby has such a sweet and gentle soul. Helping Bo with his son that just happened to come along a few days after meeting Abby. Helped her to overcome the fear of having a baby since she lost the one she really did not want till after she had lost it in the accident with her husband. She was in it too, but came out alive.
Counting on a Cowboy is just a beautiful tale. I give it 5 stars as I just was drawn to tears so many times. It is just incredibly sweet. The story line just flows. You can tell the author took the time to figure out the working of the ranch life. The story of Abby and Bo is just so believable. She makes you think you are right there watching Abby and Bo go through their days.
fter losing everything dear to her, Abby never wants to love again. But a certain cowboy spurs her to wonder if maybe love is worth the risk.
Running from a past that haunts her, Abby Knightly is drawn to the homey town of Wishing Springs, Texas, after her favorite advice columnist found love and a home there. Maybe this small town could offer hope and healing and a future for Abby too . . . if she’s brave enough to reach out and take it.
Bo Monahan isn’t interested in the new romantic destination his little town has become-or the women who might be looking at him like he’s their next Mr. Right. Between taking care of his Pops and his growing stirrup business, he isn’t looking for serious romantic commitments. But unexpectedly the young child he never knew about appears on his doorstep and Bo’s world is turned upside down.

Because Debra really does live in the country many of her funny incidents have truly happened to her…like her true life mischievous donkey, Samantha who became a reader favorite in her second book And Baby Makes Five. Or raiding wild hogs who surrounded her house became a scene in Cowboy for Keeps and just recently there were 8 donkeys on the loose on the road leading to her ranch and she and her husband had to try and herd them off the road then corral them—this is certain to show up in one of her upcoming books. Debra doesn’t waste any of her life experiences whether it’s funny experiences to help readers laugh or her experiences with the grief and the harder things of life, Debra pulls on all those emotions to touch her readers.
